BB-1 OEFI

  • The BB-1 OEFI oval port big block head was designed for the street user. This head has a 258 cc intake port and a 119 cc combustion chamber.
  • The BB-1 OEFI is made of A-356 aluminum and provides excellent performance on any size street or strip engine using a hydraulic cam and pump gas; this head is a torque monster.
  • The BB-1 OEFI has one-piece, stainless steel Brodix racing valves with sizes of 2.250 intake, 1.880 exhaust. The valve springs are of your choice, 7/16 rocker studs with .250 longer top, 10 steel retainers, 10 jumbo valve locks, 3/8 guide plates, valve bowls blended, intake ports matched to gasket and competition three angle valve job. The exhaust ports have been raised approximately .600 higher than stock! Must use longer head bolts or ten longer head studs.

    BB-1

  • The BB-1 rectangular port head has a 280 cc intake port and a 119 cc combustion chamber, but may be angle milled to 108 cc or angle machined to 98 cc.
  • The BB-1 is designed for smaller engines turning 6800 rpm or less, 427 or 454 engines with a flat tappet cam, or an Oval Track Dirt Modified Engine. Most marine applications use this head for torque and throttle response.
  • The BB-1 offers all the quality parts that are in the BB-1 OEFI except the valve springs; they come standard with 200 lb. on the seat and can handle up to 700 lift.
  • The BB-1 out of the box may have spring pockets cut to 1.625 but no deeper. This head accepts all standard parts, including intake manifold, exhaust flange bolt pattern, pushrods and valve covers. The only special options that must be used are longer head bolts or ten longer head studs. The exhaust ports are raised .600 higher than stock.


  • BB-2, BB-2X AND BB-2 PLUS

    BB-2

  • 305 cc INTAKE PORTS, 119 cc COMBUSTION CHAMBERS
  • The BB-2 is the most versatile Brodix big block head. This head is recommended for use on a 427-509 engine with at least 12.0 to 1 compression. This is the best combination for a super comp. dragster with a 468 cu. in. engine.
  • The BB-2 has ductile iron seats with solid phosphorous bronze guides that are replaceable. This head has a strong rocker boss and may be milled for a Jesel shaft system. All standard parts such as rockers, valve covers, intake manifold and pistons may be used. Spring seats may be cut, to 1.625 but no deeper. Longer head bolts or ten longer head studs must be used! The exhaust ports have been raised .600 higher than stock. The -2 may be angle milled to 108 cc out of the box or may be angle machined to 98 cc.

    BB-2X

  • 340 cc INTAKE PORT, 119 cc COMBUSTION CHAMBERS
  • The BB-2X head works best if used with a light weight car or a large engine (482-572 cu. in.). These heads will flow as well as 408 cfm at .700 lift.
  • The BB-2X head may be purchased angle milled to 108 cc or angle machined to 98 cc. All standard rocker arms, pistons, intake manifolds, valve covers, and stud girdles may be used. A .250 longer than stock intake valve is required along with either longer head bolts, or ten longer head studs.
  • The BB-2X has ductile iron replaceable seats and replaceable phosphorous bronze guides. The exhaust ports are raised .600 higher than stock. The spring pockets may be cut, out of the box, to 1.625 but no deeper.

    BB-2X PLUS

  • 312 cc INTAKE PORT, 119 cc COMBUSTION CHAMBERS
  • The BB-2 Plus has all of the great features of the BB-2, but with a little more for your buck. We have enlarged the intake port to 312 cc and contoured the exhaust port for better flow out of the box.

  • BB-2 Xtra

  • 365 cc INTAKE PORT, 119 cc COMBUSTION CHAMBERS
  • The Brodix BB-2 XTRA is the best flowing cylinder head out of the box Brodix has made. The intake port flows over 375 cfm with only the bowls blended and the intake ports matched to the gaskets. The new 365 cc intake port has been contoured and matched for use on today's 500 cu. in. or larger bracket (super) racing engines. The combustion chambers are 119 cc and are properly shaped for use with either methanol or gasoline, thus preventing detonation. The beauty of this cylinder head is the fact that it accepts all standard pistons, intake manifolds, and rocker arms.

  • BB-3

  • 370 cc INTAKE PORT, 119 cc COMBUSTION CHAMBERS
  • The BB-3 has the largest intake port of all the conventional big block heads Brodix has to offer. We recommend that these be used on a 540-605 cu. in. engine.
  • The BB-3 is not recommended to be used with a Jesel rocker system. This head requires longer head bolts or ten longer exhaust head studs.
  • The BB-3 may be angle milled to 110 cc, but may not be angle machined!
  • The BB-3 uses a standard intake manifold, rocker arms, and valve covers.
  • The BB-3 exhaust valve has been moved .030 away from the intake valve. Brodix recommends that the valve pocket placement in piston be checked! Spring pockets out of the box, may be cut to 1.625 but no deeper. The exhaust has been raised .600 higher than stock.
  • The BB-3 does require a .250 longer than stock intake valve and a special guide plate.

  • BB-4

  • 340 cc INTAKE PORT, 134 cc COMBUSTION CHAMBERS
  • The best application for the BB-4 is a 468-572 cu. in. fast bracket car with at least 13.1 to 1 compression and 7000 or more rpm. The intake and exhaust ports are raised for maximum flow. For proper installed height, use intake valve length 5.568 and exhaust valve length 5.495. By rolling the intake and exhaust valve over, the intake port is capable of flowing over 400 cfm.
  • The BB-4 requires either special guide plates or a direct pedestal rocker made by Jesel or T & D. This head has ductile iron seats and solid phosphorous bronze guides. When using a standard height block, a tall deck manifold is required. If using a tall deck block, a tall deck manifold and intake spacers are needed.
  • The BB-4 head may be angle milled into the mid 90 cc range. The spring pockets, out of the box, may be cut to 1.625 but no deeper.

    SONNYS BIG BLOCK CYLINDER HEADS

  • The BB-5 Head has an intake port volume of 390 cc. This head is capable of flowing 420 cfm. The most common intake and exhaust valve is 2.350 and 1.900. The combustion chamber is 108 cc and may be angle milled to the low 100's. This head is the perfect match for a 600 cubic inch engine!
  • The BB-5 requires either special guide plates or a direct pedestal rocker by Jesel or T&D. This head has ductile iron seats and replaceable bronze guides. The spring pockets out of the box, may be cut to 1.625, no deeper.

  • PB 1800
    The Big Duke

  • This Pro Stock style cylinder head has an 18 valve angle and may flow as much as 450+cfm.
  • The Duke has all the great aspects that Brodix has to offer: solid phosphorous bronze valve guides, ductile iron valve seats, and Brodix's special A-356 virgin aluminum. This cylinder head requires a few special components.
